Service Pack 33 Installer Prerequisite For On-premise Customers
Published
This notice applies to our on-premise customers and those installing locally.
Beginning with Service Pack 33 (coming in February), MSBuild 17 will be required in order to successfully install the software.
ACTION NEEDED: Prior to installing SP33, please download MSBuild 17 from Microsoft's web site if you have not already. MSBuild 17 is now a workload in the Visual Studio 2022 build tools install. If you attempt to install SP33 without performing this step, you will receive an exception.
BACKGROUND: We have migrated our builds to Visual Studio 2022. With Visual Studio 2022 and our associated updates, we are now specifing "Current" as the version of MS Build for all build tasks. Therefore, you will need a version of MSBuild that supports that setting, and we recommend MSBuild 17 for that reason.
