Printing Your Code Tables

Published
If you have access to Configuration in The Raiser’s Edge, you will most likely see ‘Tables’. This is where optional values are kept in the application. If you notice a drop-down menu, for example Attributes, it’s most likely going to come from  Tables.

Tables are the place where most data gets messy for users. There can be many duplicate values for the same thing, a good example being ‘County’. Users may have an entry called ‘Dumfries & Galloway’ and another entry called ‘Dumfreis & Galloway’. Notice the only difference is the spelling? It’s essential for organisations to have standardized data in their database.

If you have ever had the urge to go through your tables to clean them up, the first thing you may say to yourself is “do I need to go through each table individually?” The answer is no!

With the help of a report, you can get all your tables and table entries printed out. From there, you can make a plan on how you will handle the data, wither you will delete them, edit them, or even add additional entries.

To access this nifty report:

    1. Go to Config > Tables
    2. Click on File > Preview > Code Table Report
    3. You will be presented with a parameter window, allowing you to customize what you want to see. You can select to see all tables or only specific entries of your’ choosing.

Code Tables - 1

    1. Click on ‘Preview’ and a report will be presented.

Code Tables - 2

It will give the column: Table Name, Short Description, Table Entry, Unit Value.

As always - your suggestions/comments are appreciated!

Love the ability to print the tables.  Doing major clean up for an org and need active and inactive to print out - wish there was the ability to see icon or something to indicate on the printed list which ones are inactive.
