Access Your Secure Blackbaud FTP Folder

Published

Every user who has a blackbaud.com profile has their own personal FTP Folder which they can access to temporarily upload files to.

*Note* This is not your Blackbaud Application Hosting Files Folder

The purpose of the FTP Folder is to:

  • Allow users to upload attachments to a support case via Case Central
  • Allow support analysts to upload files that are too large for email
  • Upload files that are for a service that a customer has paid for, for example – MailWise

Some users will not realize they have this folder available (that they only know the login details to). A common question that is asked is ‘how do I access my Blackbaud FTP Folder?’

Your FTP folder is ‘linked’ to your blackbaud.com profile.

To get your FTP login information, you first need to log in to the blackbaud.com.  If needed, you can request your user name and reset your password by clicking the Can't log in? button on the Log In page.  You will be prompted to enter your email address and will then receive an email with your user name and a link to reset your password.

When you have successfully logged in follow the below steps:

1)    Click on ‘my blackbaud’ at the top of the page

2)    Click on ‘View My Profile’ at the left

3)    Scroll down until you get to the section ‘FTP’

4)    Click ‘Transfer or Retrieve a File’

5)    Select ‘Web-based Secure FTP’ (for the purposes of this blog)

6)    Copy your FTP Username/Password

7)    Click on ‘Web-based Secure FTP’ from step 2

8)    Enter your login details and click ‘Login’

9)    You have now successfully logged into your personal FTP folder!

It’s important to note that any contents you place in here will only be retained for 14 days. After that, your files will be deleted.
