Gift Aid in eTapestry (UK Only)

Greetings!

Over the weekend there was an update to eTapestry that not only gave us additional features overall, but has improved the Gift Aid experience in eTap for our UK clients.

For one, users can now edit the Gift Aid text that will be associated with your DIY form. Please note that you should consult with a Gift Aid expert before you make changes to the default text as incorrect wording can invalidate your declaration.

For the users who previously used this Gift Aid tickbox on your DIY form, you'll need to do the following to make sure that the Gift Aid text will properly display after the update to eTap:

1. 
   
2. Log into eTapestry
   
3. Go to Management > DIY Forms
   
4. 'Edit' your DIY Form
   
5. Click on 'Settings'
   
6. Make sure that 'Include Gift Aid?' is ticked
   
7. Make sure that you have text that is available in the 'Edit Gift Aid Text' (if you want to use the default text, click on cancel to this)
   
8. Save your DIY Form
   
9. Click on 'Go Live'
   

After doing the above, your DIY form will be re-published and your Gift Aid box/text should successfully show on your DIY Form.

You'll also be glad to know that when a donor marks Gift Aid on the form, a declaration will created as a journal entry for that donor. This means that the gift will be eligible for Gift Aid so you can go ahead and follow through with your claim to the HMRC. For more information, click on 'Help & Support' > 'Help' > 'What's New?'.
