Wanted: An Authentic Paella Recipe

Published

I recently received a new set of pots and pans as a gift. The box was covered in mouth-watering photos of homemade marinara sauce, colorful roasted vegetables, and authentic Spanish paella. I quickly unwrapped the shiny new kitchenware and spread it across my countertop. Thankfully, I discovered some information and directions on how to clean, use, and store the pots—the standard how-to’s. However, after digging through the entire package, I was disappointed. There were no recipe books or instructions on how to make the delicious paella or any of the other pictured recipes. I was given the tools, but no help on how to reach the end goal: a delicious meal.

Just like my new kitchenware, the Raiser’s Edge curriculum provides you the instructions to learn how to use the tools within the software. For example, you can take one of our classes to learn how to effectively add and enter gifts. These types of courses are our technical courses, where you can learn how to navigate, where to click, and get some tips and tricks on how to use the fundamental tools.

But, what about classes that help you achieve an end result, like a homemade Italian dinner? Blackbaud University offers those, too! To learn how to achieve a goal or successfully complete a process, look for an outcome-based course. For example, after learning the fundamentals of gifts, you can apply that knowledge to understand how to set up and manage a sustainer gifts program. For example, you can learn how to solicit, enter, manage, edit, acknowledge, and analyze your recurring gifts program in course Raiser’s Edge: Developing and Managing Recurring Gifts.

Unlike my pots and pans, our outcome-based curriculum also provides the recipes to achieve an outcome. Have you taken any outcome-based classes listed on the Raiser’s Edge curriculum datasheet? If so, which one(s) is your favorite? We’d love to hear!

Also, I’m still in need of a good paella recipe. If you have a favorite, please send my way!
