Getting Back To Basics

Published
My gym underwent some well-needed renovations recently. Good thing that the aggravating weeks of dusty space and limited equipment turned out to be worth it.

I was pumped (no pun intended) and impressed by the new tools, gadgets, and toys the gym purchased, which, of course, I had to use for no apparent reason other than, well, they were there, and they were new, and I thought I’d look cool using them. Weeks later, I still like and appreciate the new additions although I find myself going back to the basics time and time again.

As new features of Raiser’s Edge NXT continue to debut regularly, it’s easy to get excited about the functionality that’s not available in the database view but is available in the web viewsuch as lists and constituent portfolios. I love all of it, by the way. I’ll say, however, that one of my fave features so far is this one:

Not fancy, I know, but hello! You can add a new constituent as soon as you log in to the system. I’ve not counted the number of clicks it takes from the moment you are signed in but my guess is one or two. Some features might fly under the radar but hopefully not this one and, hopefully, you’ve added plenty of constituent records since it came out. If, however, you’re returning from maternity leave/sabbatical/work absence/trip to the moon/<fill in the blank>, or if you are just new to Raiser’s Edge NXT, I recommend that you check out our updated eLearning course, Basics of Raiser’s Edge NXT, where you can get a glimpse of the program in no time. And if you can spare a minute or two, why don’t you post your favorite feature below?
