PB&J Sandwiches And Constituent Records

Published
My husband is allergic to peanuts. He loves PB&J sandwiches, but because of his allergy I make him almond butter and jelly sandwiches. He wants to still call them PB&J’s, but I disagree and think they should be AB&J’s. The most important ingredient in peanut butter and jelly is the peanut butter. Without the peanut butter, it’s almond butter, cashew butter, or insert your favorite butter here.

The most important ingredient in your Raiser’s Edge database? Constituents. Without constituents you can’t run reports, create a mailing, or query on who donated this year. Constituents are the peanut butter to your Raiser’s Edge jelly.

Because they are so important, make sure your database is filled with quality peanuts – I mean constituents. Make sure you are low on duplicates, and high in quality records. Blackbaud University’s Basics of Constituents eLearning course can help you assess the quality of your records. Basics of Constituents can also help craft a policies and procedures guide to keep the records in tip-top shape.

Now, go grab a PB&J (or AB&J), take a bite, and launch our newest eLearning, Basics of Constituents. This ondemand eLearning course is available as a benefit of the Learn subscription.
