Simplify Your Raiser’s Edge Experience

My family is thinking about buying a new car. This is quite a process for us—we research, research, and research some more. In the first phase of our research, I discovered how easy it is to operate each car. Gone are the days of putting a key into the ignition and manually rolling down a window. Now just being near a car with the key fob can unlock it or open the trunk!

Working in Raiser’s Edge can be just as simple. When I started my first job at a nonprofit organization, my main task was to enter gifts received by my organization. So every day I spent numerous hours in Batch. I would occasionally visit Mail, Reports, or Dashboards. But Batch was my main destination.

One of the best things my manager taught me was how to set the opening page for Raiser’s Edge. As I logged in, Batch was the first page that loaded. So helpful!

To set your opening page, click Tools and User Options. Click the General tab. In the Start the Raiser’s Edge on this Page menu, select your favorite page. Click OK.

That’s it! Now your Raiser’s Edge will open on the page you selected. This is a user setting, so it only affects your login. This might not be quite as cool as keyless entry, but it’s still a time-saver.

Thank you for the tip - it's amazing how much time you can save with small tweaks to the system to fit your workflow.
