The Raiser’s Edge Mobile App: Now with Organizations and Soft Credits

We're very excited to announce that the latest update for The Raiser's Edge mobile app will be available tomorrow, March 27, 2013, for all Raiser’s Edge customers.

As a reminder, The Raiser’s Edge mobile app is available at no additional charge for all customers—whether you host with Blackbaud or on your own servers.

Functionality Overview
This update will include the following:

• 
  
• Access to Organization records
  
• Soft credits available in giving history and recent gifts
  
• Fix for Android phones that addresses screen issues that make the app appear very slow or unresponsive. If you still experience a problem on Android, please create a case.
  

Getting the new functionality
Access to the new functionality requires 1) the latest web service, and 2) for your users to update the app on their devices when prompted. Below are instructions for updating or installing the web service based on whether you currently use the mobile app and where you host your Raiser’s Edge.

Your organization is already using the mobile app…

• 
  
• If you host with Blackbaud and have previously activated the mobile web service, it will automatically be updated.
  
• If you host The Raiser’s Edge on your own servers:

  •  If you completed the initial install of the mobile web service or installed an update on or after December 21, 2012, your web service will be automatically updated.
    
  • If you completed the initial install of the mobile web service before December 21, 2012 and have not updated since, refer to Knowledgebase solution How to update the Mobile Service for The Raiser's Edge for instructions to update your mobile web service to the latest version.
    
  
  
  

Your organization is not yet using the mobile app…

• 
  
• If you host Raiser’s Edge on your own servers, visit The Raiser's Edge Mobile App Customer Resource Center for instructions on how to get started. As you complete the initial setup, the process will automatically install the latest web service including the above functionality. When users install the app on their mobile devices for the first time, they will automatically get the latest version of the app.
  
• If you host with Blackbaud, when you perform the initial mobile setup to activate the mobile web service, the process will automatically install the latest web service including the above functionality. When users install the app on their mobile devices for the first time, they will automatically get the latest version of the app.
