What's New in Raiser's Edge NXT the week of August 17? Gift Records!
Published
Given a big part of fundraising being raising funds, we're excited to introduce an integral feature in this week's update to Raiser's Edge NXT — Gift records!
With gift records, you have detailed information about the donations, pledges, gifts-in-kind, etc. — giving of all types — that you bring in through your efforts at your fingertips, in an easy-to-browse, single-page view. To open the record of a gift, simply select its amount in a list or on a record, such as under Giving for a constituent. On a gift's record, you can view information both basic and specific.
Overview. At the top of the record, you can view a summary of basic pertinent information about the gift, such as its donor, date, type, the total amount received or commited, its ID, and which fundraisers receive credit for the giving. In addition, you can view — at a glance — whether the gift was given anonymously, has soft credits, was acknowledged, or posted to the general ledger of your organization's financial accounting system.
Soft credits. With soft credits, you can recognize multiple constituents for a gift, such as to credit someone for the giving of their spouse or family foundation. Under Soft credits, you can view who share credit for the gift, and for how much. To open the record of a soft credit recipient, simply select their name.
In future releases, expect the gift record to continue to evolve with additional details such as receipt information, marketing IDs, and installment schedules for pledges. To add and edit gift information, select Gifts from Records in the database view.
