RE NXT Q2 Roadmap Recap 3682

RE NXT Q2 Roadmap Recap

Published

Are you still recovering from a fiscal year close and don't have 65 minutes to watch the fabulous Q2 RE NXT Roadmap session recorded on June 29?  Not to worry, we have a quick recap for you here, but encourage you to take the time to review the full session when you get a chance to get more details on the features you are most excited about, see prototypes of upcoming features, and even see some live code of what emails in NXT can look like!

Disclaimer: Roadmaps Are Subject to Change.  The roadmap presentation, and this blog, are for informational purposes only. The product roadmap is based on Blackbaud's current plan as of the date of the roadmap was presented (June 29, 2017), and is subject to change at any time, in Blackbaud's sole discretion, without notice.

Operate More Efficiently:

SKY Reporting

  • Drag and Drop Reporting is currently in an Early Adopter Program (EAP) with about 50 clients. Provides more chart types, allows you to save multiple dashboards, provides secure access to dashboards, with more enhancements to come between now and General Availability (GA) is planned around bbcon in October 2017.

SSO (Single Sign On)

  • Allows RE NXT to piggy back on the authentication you use to log into your computer every day.  (This means one less username and password to remember!)
  • EAP to start in August, General Availability (GA) later in 2017.

SKY API

  • Workato connector was released in April.  This let's RE interact with other programs you use with recipes, for instance you can write a recipe to say that when you add a new line in your google doc, RE should create a new constituent record.
  • Outlook365 connection - currently in EAP.  This gives you a Blackbaud button in your instance of Outlook365 (online, desktop, or mobile applications) that will check to see if the sender of the email is a constituent in your database.  If they are, it will show you pertinent information, such as last gift, and also allow you to add the email as an action to RE NXT.  Scheduled release to all RE NXT clients is Q3 2017.

Constituent Entry

  • First step is add and edit relationships.  Next will be full constituent record.  The big development between the two is a robust duplicate management check.

Reach and Engage New Donors:

Email:

  • First class email will be coming to the RE NXT Web View.  You will have a best in class email template gallery to start your emails or you can create your own layout. You will have an image gallery as well as ewallet (Apple Pay, Visa Checkout, and Mastercard's Masterpass).

Donation form builder:

  • This will have the same look and feel of the email builder and be right in your RE NXT web view.  The performance of each form will be displayed for you in the web view.

Back office gift entry:

  • In 2016, only 7.2% of all fundraising was done online, so we know that being able to enter in checks, cash, and phone gifts in the Web View is very important.  Our team is looking to enhance what is in Database View today for entering a gift.  One option that our team is working with right now is to have a batch field option on the individual gift record entry form, so that all gifts can still be in a batch for audit purposes, but they can still be entered in an individual way. Processing credit cards in real time is also going to be available.  This will be tokenized and secure so that your donors don't need to worry, and you don't have to have employees handing your post-it notes with credit card numbers at the end of the week.

Communication Preferences & GDPR:

  • Improvements to Communication Preferences are coming based off legislation that was recently passed in the UK, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). While the legislation is just relevant to the UK, we are releasing this to all customers as it may benefit your organization.  This will allow you to have an audit trail of opt-ins and opt-outs for different communication channels.  You have the optional feature that can have this trail drive your solicit codes/communication preferences.

Retain and Expand Existing Donors:

Acknowledgements:

  • Drive email acknowledgments.  Donors may still give by mail, but wish to receive an email acknowledgement. This functionality will be coming to Web View.

Recurring Gifts:

  • Automation of recurring gift management. Wish that you could tell a card to try again the next day based on decline code?  We do too!

Lots of development happened in the first half of 2017 and plenty more to come in the next 12 months.  This is just the tip of the iceberg so if you are ready for more detail, watch the recording of the session.  As mentioned above, roadmaps are subject to change, so please join us in Q3 and Q4 for the most up to date roadmap!
