2016: What's Next for NXT!

Published

2015 was an exciting year for Raiser's Edge NXT (thanks for being a part of it!). As we roll into 2016, know that the continuous updates with new features and enhancements that you've come to anticipate will continue in the new year. With that in mind, let's look at the road ahead and some of the things to expect over the next few months in Raiser's Edge NXT!

Attachments. The ability to attach or link to files — like photos, contact reports, or collateral in cloud storage — on constituent records was a popular feature of 2015. In 2016, look for additional enhancements to this feature — such as thumbnails of attached images and new attachment filters — as well as the ability to attach or link to files on other types of records (such as actions!).

Contact information. Key to cultivating relationships with donors and prospects is reaching out and interacting with them. To help ease this, you'll be able to quickly manage constituent contact information in 2016! To start, expect the ability to manage a constituent's email addresses and online presence — followed by other forms of contact information — directly from their record in the web interface!

Nonprofit Intelligence. Currently in BETA (and a hit at last year's BBCON), look for analytics and at-a-glance metrics to help gauge your organization's overall fundraising effectiveness, as well as the success of specific campaigns, funds, and appeals. In addition, expect detailed explanations of the number-crunching and suggestions on how to use the analysis to benefit your fundraising efforts (but we've discussed this all before.)

Lists. The ability to create and filter lists of constituents, gifts, actions, and proposals — such as to analyze fundraising effectiveness or fine-tune recipients of an appeal — was another popular addition in 2015. In 2016, expect this feature to grow with new enhancements and functionality, including the ability to work seamlessly with query lists created in the database view.

Proposal statuses. One of the big features of 2015 was the ability to track and manage a prospect's status in your move management process. In 2016, look for similar status tracking and management of proposals in your solicitation process!

Ratings. Wealth ratings and analytics are great tools to help prioritize constituent interactions, find major donor prospects, and identify which relationships to cultivate. In 2016, your organization will be able to configure and customize the wealth information that appears in Raiser's Edge NXT to help focus on the ratings that matter most to your fundraisers.

Gifts. A big feature of 2015 was the inclusion of gift records, full of detailed information about each donation, payment, commitment, and so on that your organization receives. In 2016, you'll be able to view and manage even more details about your gifts, such as information about recurring or planned gifts and their related payments!

Keep in mind that things could change as the year progresses, but that sneak-peek just scratches the surface! In addition to those features and enhancements, the roadmap for the next few months includes additional functionality around custom fields (for your campaigns, funds, and appeals), event details (for those of you with Events Management), and a more robust search (yes, search!).

Happy and successful 2016 to you all, and here's to another exciting year!
