5 Things to Start Doing in 2014

Published
Start 2014 off right with these tips from our support team. Here are 5 simple things you should start doing (if you aren't already) in 2014.

Turn on Pop Up Notifications in Daily Sales

Pop up notifications can be a great asset to your front desk staff. They can be used to let them know when a board member arrives, when a constituent needs their info updated, or perhaps to notify someone of something left in lost and found. Learn how to start using pop up notifications here.

Start Using Ask Ladders

Personalize your appeals by using ask ladders. You can ask constituents for amounts based on their prior giving history. Kevin put a blog together on how to set up ask ladders here.

Use Smart Fields for Query Revenue Totals

It can be difficult to filter a query on giving history or totals such as “Constituents who have given over $1,000 last year,” but Smart fields can be created and used to make this process much easier. Read up on smart fields here.

Give Yourself (Search) Options

It's nice to have choices. If you haven't yet, expand your constituent search options to include email address and phone number. This could save you some time and effort. We've got to do it for you, but you just have to ask here.

Come to the Altru Skype Chats

We host these every Wednesday from 1-2 pm ET. These are low pressure and informal. You don't need a camera or mic; we just type to each other. Come chat with other Altru users about marketing, membership, events, security, and much more. Topics are open, so email me if you have something you'd like to cover. You can talk to us anytime; this is a chance to talk to your peers. You can talk to someone in your same position, at a similar org, who uses Altru. Time to trade notes!
