Champs Revamped: Check out the New Altru Champions Program

Last year we rolled out the Altru champions program. Designed to highlight and reward our power users, the champions program publicly recognized our most skilled Altru users. But, it wasn't perfect. We weren't 100% set on what made a champion - which meant customers weren't sure how to become one. We offered additional training to our champs, but realized that they didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to more training. We offered passes to bbcon, but learned that most don't have the travel budget to attend. So, we've revamped the program.

How do I become an Altru champion? 

Complete at least 5 of the Altru 101 Classes
Receive at least 15 “Good Answer” Stars for Replies to Questions/Problems in the Community
Contribute 100+ Activities to the Community

That's it. Take some classes and get really good at your area of Altru. Offer some advice in the community that the community verifies as helpful. And be active!

Based on this criteria, we've already got some new champions. Here they are:

Allison Pate from Hands On Children's Museum and Shannon Knight from the RISD Museum were our champs last year and we're glad to keep them in the program! We've added quite a few new ones:

What do they do as a champ?

They remain active in the Altru community, contributing responses every week. The topics are all fair game. Sometimes they even beat us to answering how-to questions. Other times they offer advice on how they use Altru or best practices for their position at their org.

I email them weekly topics to check out and they offer feedback and content for our blogs. Audrey has a blog on prospecting in Altru, coming out next week!

What are the rewards?

Our champs will receive a welcome gift with some Altru swag. They'll be offered monthly champ-only training with a consultant or analyst, quarterly chats with our product management team, spots to beta test additional functionality, and quarterly awards based on both the quantity and quality of their participation.

And the big one - Champ of the Year. This champion will be named by the Altru team and will receive a pass to bbcon, with travel and lodging provided by Blackbaud, and dinner with the Altru team.

Take a few of our classes (101 or advanced) to boost those Altru skills. Join the Altru community and get in on some conversations. Beat us to answering another customer's question or offer your advice in these conversations! I'll be running reports and checking activity constantly - scouting for new champs on a daily basis!
