Classes Available in August

Every month there are new opportunities to learn more about Altru. Whether you're just getting started or want to review or deepen your skills, we've got classes for you. Here's the list of what is available in August:

Appeals & Mailings 101 - Aug 1, 19

This 2-hour instructor-led class will introduce the Appeal and Mailings function in Altru. The class will cover setup and generation of both solicitation and non-solicitation mailings, such as fundraising appeals, e-blasts, and other planned marketing communications. The class will also review appeal records and will wrap up with a discussion of how to track responses and results from mailings.

Batch 101 - Aug 19

In this two-hour instructor-led online event, you will learn how to enter data into batches, and manage batch numbering schemes, workflows, and templates.

Daily Financial Reconciliation - Aug 1, 18

This two-hour course addresses best practices for financial reconciliation. Participants will learn how Altru manages the flow of purchases and donations from cash registers to bank accounts. Upon completing this course, participants will be able to compare daily revenue against deposits in Altru to ensure figures are balanced and accurate, significantly improving efficiency, visibility, and control over the reconciliation and approval process.

General Sales 101 - Aug 13, 29

In this two-hour instructor-led virtual event, Ticket Sellers and Guest Services Managers learn how to use Altru for their daily tasks. Participants learn how to process daily and advance sales, apply discounts, manage refunds, close and approve cash drawers, and generate sales reports.

Introduction to Altru - Aug 14, 26

In this two-hour instructor-led online event, you will receive an operational overview of navigating and setting your favorites. You will also learn the basics of constituent records.

Managing Group Sales Reservations - Aug 7, 22

Group Sales Reservations in Altru is a two-hour instructor-led online event that introduces you to the basic processes for adding and managing a group sales reservation. The course covers creating a reservation record, scheduling activities for groups in an itinerary, generating a contract, managing reservation milestones and payments, and checking in and checking out groups. Use of the Group Sales area of Altru for Facility Rentals will also be covered. After completing this course, you will be able to complete day-to-day management tasks for group sales reservations.

Membership Setup 101 - Aug 5, 22

In this two-hour instructor-led online event, you will learn you will learn about setup tasks for membership programs in Altru. You will also identify key decisions related to the setup tasks.

Merchandise 101 - Aug 8, 25

In this two-hour instructor=led online event, you will find out about three most common merchandise configurations. You will also learn how to set up a basic configuration including vendors, departments, categories, merchandise items, and discounts.

Query 101 - Aug 5, 27

During this two-hour instructor-led event, you will learn how to use the query tool in Altru. Query is a tool that you can use to group together records based on common criteria. You will also learn how to create selections from query results for use in reports, exports, and mailings. Through a series of instructor-led scenarios, class discussion, and hands-on practice in the sample data, participants will learn how to use query to meet their reporting needs. 

Revenue 101 - Aug 13, 28

In this two-hour instructor-led online event, you will learn the difference between recognition and revenue in Altru. You will also learn about payment applications and adding different payment types.  In addition, you'll see how to use EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) and review some basic revenue reports.

Ticketing Setup 101 - Aug 4, 21

In this two-hour, instructor-led online event, you will learn how to locate and use the Ticket Setup checklist. You will also identify key decisions related to setup tasks.

Web Forms 101 - Aug 12

In this two-hour instructor-led online event, you will learn how to create and manage web forms so your organization can accept online donations and online payments for programs and memberships.
