Code Table Access is Here!

Published
In our newest release of Altru (3.17) access to code tables was granted without having to contact Support. We released this exciting news in this blog. But we've had a few users who created a new code table and still found that they are unable to add new entries or even edit an existing code table entry. Does that sound familiar? Did you think to yourself, “I have code tables rights” or “Hey! I am system administrator. I should be able to do anything!”

Don’t worry; you still can!

Here is a brief update so you know just what to do when you need to access or edit your new code table you created.  Although in the past you contacted Support to have permissions granted to a new code table you created, that extra call or email is a thing of the past. Now if you have the Code Table system role or you are a System Role Administrator at your organization, just follow a few more short steps listed here:

If you have the Code Table system role only and are not a System Role Administrator, follow these steps:

  1. After you added the new code table, go to Administration > Code Tables.
  2. Click on the name of the new code table.
  3. On the top left under Tasks, click Assign Permissions.
  4. Option 1: To grant access to all code tables, click "Grant all"
  5. Option 2: If you do not want to grant access to all code tables, scroll through the list and locate the new code table
  6. Click on the drop down in the Add, Edit, and Delete columns.
  7. Click "Granted"
  8. Click "Save"
  9. The user should now have access to add, edit, and delete code table entries for this code table.

If you are a System Role Administrator within the organization, grant these permissions by following these steps:

  1. Go to Administration > Security > System Roles
  2. Click on the Code Tables system role
  3. Go to the Code Tables Tab and click on "Assign code table permissions"
