What’s New in Altru Education: Upcoming Classes & Curricula!

In February, we’re continuing to focus on topics that you may have included in your New Year’s resolutions. We’re focused on patron engagement and building long-term relationships. Additionally, as 21st century organizations, many of us wish to do a better job of engaging and interacting with our customers online.  We’re also thinking ahead to Spring Break and Summer and helping you get the most out of Altru for this year’s camp and class offerings. The Masters Workshops planned for this month dive into each of those areas.

I’m also pleased to announce that we’ve added curricula for Altru to Blackbaud Training Central. Right now, we only have six of these beauties, but we’ve got many more planned. As we add new content (online classes, videos, job aids), we’re able to combine these different types of resources to create training sets geared toward particular tasks and areas in Altru. As these are new for  us, I’d welcome feedback, if you have any. There is a Community Post all setup and ready for your comments.

Altru Masters Workshop: Tips and Techniques for Camps and Classes – February 5th – 1-2pm ET – Register here

Class is in session! Curious about how you can set up and manage classes and camps in Altru? Well, this workshop is for you!  Learn the techniques to set up multi-day events, collect information, and provide options for people as they sign up.  This instructor-led Masters Workshop session is one-hour in length.

Altru Masters Workshop: Best Practices for the Prospects & Major Giving Module in Altru – February 11th – 3-4pm ET – Register here

In this one-hour instructor-led Master’s Workshop, learn best practices for using Altru’s Major Giving module.  We’ll review common scenarios, and how to track and cultivate your relationships with major donors in Altru.

Altru Masters Workshop: Engaging Constituents with Ongoing Giving Options (Recurring Gifts, Sustaining Membership Programs, and Automatic Payments) – February 25th – 1-2pm ET – Register here

In this one-hour instructor-led course, you will get an overview of all the ongoing giving options available in Altru and how to effectively utilize them. This includes recurring gifts, matching gifts, and sustaining membership programs. We will also cover how to automate these different options to streamline the process and save time. This course will also cover all the changes that are coming in early 2015 to the recurring gift record.

Altru Masters Workshop: Creating the Best Online Experience for your Patrons – Part 1: Online Basics – February 26th – 1-2pm ET – Register here

This hour-long instructor-led workshop will review functionality such as Unresolved Sales Orders, Custom Acknowledgements, eTicketing, and minor web form adjustments. These features will help to ensure patrons have all of the event details, can navigate through your web forms easily, and that your staff will be able to serve everyone quickly and easily at the event. This is the first session in a two-part series. You must enroll in each session separately. Web Forms 101 is a recommended prerequisite for this workshop.

Altru Masters Workshop: Creating the Best Online Experience for your Patrons – Part 2: Your Repeat Customers and User Registration – March 5th – 1-2pm ET – Register here

This hour-long instructor-led workshop dives into the details of user registration—how it works, what the benefits are, and how to handle situations where customers are not receiving discounts or are having difficulty registering. This is the second session in a two-part series. You must enroll in each session separately. Web Forms 101 is a recommended prerequisite for this workshop.
