If you hold a front office sales or customer service role, then you probably don’t need to understand all the inner workings of Blackbaud Altru. You only need to know how to process sales and maybe even a few memberships. This doesn’t mean you can’t learn more about other areas, but your focus is mainly on front office sales.

What if you work with memberships? Again, your focus is probably on processing new memberships and making membership updates. You may need to know how a membership is sold, but not everything else.

What if you use Blackbaud Altru for fundraising, patron communications, or analysis? You probably need a grasp of all the functionality so you can see how the various pieces of information from front office sales and membership impact the data you use to fundraise, communicate, and analyze.

In 2020, we’ll be focusing on what you need to know for your specific roles at your organization. starting with the Blackbaud Altru Fundamentals series of courses.

Sales and customer service staff can learn how to process sales and memberships from the front office in our new 90-minute Blackbaud Altru: Fundamentals - Sales course.

Membership staff can learn the fundamentals of managing memberships and membership structure in our new 90-minute Blackbaud Altru: Fundamentals - Memberships course.

Back office staff can learn how to create and manage patron records as well as work with revenue records, such as donations, in our new 3-hour Blackbaud Altru: Fundamentals - Constituent and Revenue Records course. Back office staff are also encouraged to take all three of these fundamentals courses to understand how sales and memberships work.
