Online Applications and Re-enrollments in BBNC 7.1

Happy new year everyone and welcome back to another exciting year of NetCommunity and online applications for new students or re-enrollments for returning students.  NetCommunity recently went through a change on how it encrypts passwords in 7.1 and this change has caused some password fields in Education Edge to appear blank when the accounts are linked.  Often times the passwords will appear blank due to the following common scenarios:
 

1. The username and password are created to complete an online application
2. The username already exists in NetCommunity when running the Add users Utility

As a result of the password in NetCommunity already being encrypted the information may not come over to Education Edge, preventing login from NetClassroom or FAWeb but not the rest of the site.  Below are the options to resolve this so users can log in to both NetClassroom/FAWeb and NetCommunity:
 

1. Have the end user reset their password after completing the application
2. Have an Admin user reset the users password in Users & Security -> Users

After either option has been completed, the password should now appear in Education Edge and thus allow users to login to NetClassroom and FAWeb respectively.
