Easy Options for Scheduling

Published
Do you ever wish there was an EASY button for scheduling? Well, we haven't developed that button yet, but there are a few things you can do to make scheduling for your next academic year a bit more simplified.

Easy Option #1: Don't reinvent the wheel - Copy it instead!
Is your schedule next year going to be pretty much the same as it was last year-- give or take a few class changes? If so, copying your schedule from last year may be a good option for you.  See How to automatically create classes and copy a previous year's schedule for more info.

Easy Option #2: Rinse, Reuse, Recycle
Maybe you're making some changes to the core elements of your schedule: the cycle, timetable, or pattern. After copying your academic year, you don't necessarily have to rebuild these elements from scratch.  You can edit your existing cycle, timetable, and/or patterns as needed.  We have Knowledgebase articles for each to guide you through the process.

Easy Option #3: Play by the Business Rules
Have you taken a look at your Scheduling Business Rules lately? There are a few rules that can be real time savers when it comes to scheduling classes and students.  Want to know which rules to look for?  Check out How to set Business Rules to increase scheduling efficiency in The Education Edge.

Easy Option #4: Get to the Core of it
Core Curriculum is a great tool for adding requests for specific courses to students based on their grade level. After you've defined your core curriculum, you can add requests for core courses with just a few clicks.
