Education Edge 7.87 Patch 6 Feature Details

Published
Earlier this month, we let you know about an update coming for the Education Edge. This update includes changes to integration and your contact information. These changes are only applicable to schools that are integrating Education Edge and Raiser’s Edge. These changes are the result of feedback from schools like yours, after the release of Education Edge 7.87 Patch 3 and Raiser’s Edge 7.94 in February.

What’s Included:

Contact Information is removed when you copy addresses: With Raiser’s Edge 7.94, contact information was moved off of the address record and is now shown in a contact grid on the constituent Bio 1 tab. With this change, you no longer share contact information (phones, emails, etc.) in Raiser’s Edge. For compatibility of integration of the two systems, phone/contact sharing was removed from Education Edge as well in Education Edge7.87 Patch 3. Based on feedback from our schools, we are also removing contact information from the Copy Address From functionality. Please note: Addresses are still shared across records. These changes only impact contact information (phones, email, etc.), which must now be entered on each individual’s record.

Inactive Contact Information is no longer synchronized: Now in Raiser’s Edge 7.94 and above, you are able to mark a contact number/email as Inactive. Since most schoos in our discovery process only wanted to use active information to contact families, we did not add the concept of inactive contact information to the Education Edge. With that in mind, we have updated the synchronization process. Now, when contact information is marked as Inactive in Raiser’s Edge it will be removed from the Education Edge database. After this update, new contact information entered into Raiser’s Edge as Inactive will not be brought over to Education Edge. Existing contact information marked as Inactive in Raiser’s Edge will be removed from Education Edge. For many schools, this will resolved the errors in your Integration Activity Report. The system will no longer attempt to add a duplicate contact type due to inactive data.

You can review our webinar detailing these changes here. We are excited that these changes will return our schools back to a state where their systems are now integrating seamlessly as you expect.
