What’s New: K-12 Product Updates For May 2

Published
May is a special month for Blackbaud’s K-12 “ON” Products as we’re actually releasing two major feature updates this month instead of the traditional one. Before we get ahead of ourselves though, let’s have a closer look at the first update for the month of May.

Also known as 13.05, this release contains a lot of updates for each of the “ON” products like onBoard, onCampus, and onRecord. We’re also offering a glimpse into the future with a brand new Coming Soon section, and Connect Raiser’s Edge users are going to find plenty of improvements and fixes this month as well.

Here are just a few of the features packed inside this release:

onCampus and onBoard: List Enhancements. As we’ve been doing each month in the various “ON” Products, we’ve updated many of our lists with new filters and customization options that offer you even more control of your data. This month, we’ve targeted Gradebook grades, Candidate, and Contract lists.

  • For the Gradebook grades list, we’ve added new filter options to specify the role criteria being shown.
  • Candidate lists now have more column options including the selected School Program, Parent email addresses, and Referral Text.
  • Contract lists also have new columns that can be added. Now, schools can work with associated Responsible Signers, their associated email addresses, selected Payment Plans, and the Smart Family ID.

onRecord: Report Card Builder EAP Update. For schools currently participating in this onRecord EAP, the team has added improvements to make the experience even better.

  • Assessment skill comments can be printed if the option is first enabled. Schools can also label them using an associated grading period.
  • GPA Values are now auto-calculated when a report card is generated.
  • Schools can independently style Course column sections.
  • The Advisor field in the student header, along with head teacher and teacher fields in the course section can now appear labeled using the last name only.

onBoard: Admissions Scheduling Is Now Live. One of the most exciting updates to this release is onBoard’s latest feature finally going live for all schools. With this feature, we’ve streamlined the admissions process and administrative work surrounding visit and interview management for schools. Through a combination of an onBoard specific view of the School Calendar, visit and interview creation, new lists, as well as self-scheduling, this feature has a lot of highly requested features to check out.

We’ve detailed this feature quite a bit over the past couple of weeks so if you want to know all of the ins and outs of Admissions Scheduling, we have you covered. Start with this webinar, visit our help documentation, and then make sure to read up on last week’s blog post.

We’ve only scratched the surface of this May update and there’s plenty more to discover. You can find the full release notes right here. For a visual look at the first May update, check out the release video to see all of the new features and changes in 13.05 as well.

Make sure to subscribe to the K-12 Community for our latest content from discussions, to blog posts, and more. We have some big features and changes coming in the months to come and you won’t want to miss any of it. Trust me.

As always, thanks for reading everyone!

Every day that onCampus is incapable of handling Google permissions between student and teacher is a day we talk about finding a different product...
I love the new parent email option for contracts! Please add it to the candidate list as well. Thanks!
The onBoard List enhancements has made my day so much easier.  Thank you
