What’s New: K-12 Product Updates For November 14

Published
We’re now halfway through November and that means it’s time for the next release for the Blackbaud School Management System.

For release 13.12, four of the products are getting some new features and plenty of updates that have been in high demand from you, the community. Enrollment Management leads the pack with the most content this month, followed closely by Academics, and Core. It’s been a while, but School Website has received a new feature this month as well.

Before we dive headlong into the holiday season, there’s a release we need to discuss. Here are some of the highlights from the November 14 release:

Academics: Transcript Builder EAP Updates. Last month we introduced the new Transcript Builder EAP. If you remember, we’ve taken the familiar drag and drop elements of the Report Card Builder and applied it here to give you a better visual overview.

This month, we’ve added a few new features to the EAP. When a school edits a grades column, they can mark the box to include dropped courses which will display on the transcript. In addition, when a school adds a credits column, they can show the total credits and/or total cumulative credits.

For a chance to participate in our EAP for Transcript builder, fill out the form here.

Enrollment Management: View Forms from Candidate Profiles. I’ve been hinting at it in past articles, and the update is finally live alongside the November release. In October, we added the Files and Forms tile to the Candidate Profile which enabled admissions managers to view and download attachments.

We’ve continued to evolve Files and Forms over the past month so now inquiry, application, and school forms are available from this tile as well.

School Website: Cookie Consent Banner. When building a website, schools now have the option to notify visitors about cookies being used on the site. Found under Site Settings when working on a website, this feature is disabled by default. When enabled, the consent banner appears at the bottom of the page to not interfere with emergency bulletins.

In addition to creating custom messaging, the banner can be personalized a bit as well from Styles. The customization process Is nearly the same as emergency bulletin, so those familiar should have an easy time personalizing the banner.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg for what’s arriving in the November 14 update. For the full set of details, make sure to head over to our online help center or take a look at the release notes right here. Of course, we also have our monthly release video for those of you who want a visual overview as well.

As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out our blogs here on the Tips and Tricks section of the K-12 Community. We’ll be back next week to shine the spotlight on other sections of the product, so we’ll see you right back here on Tuesday.

Thanks for reading everyone!

You're absolutely right, Heather! I've gone in and added the links.
It would've been helpful to have a link to the release notes...
