What’s New: K12 Product Updates For August 21

It feels weird to say it, but August is quickly coming to an end and the school year is now right around the corner. As such, it’s time once again to take a look at the latest release for the Blackbaud Education Management products. Here’s what we have coming for you inside of the August 21 release.

This month, we have a little something for everyone. Nearly all of the products are represented this month, though Core leads the way with the most updates followed closely by Enrollment management and School website. There’s a lot to get to this month, so here’s just a few of the major additions coming on August 21, 2019.

Enrollment management: Use Custom Candidate Fields. A Custom Candidate Field block can now be added to a inquiry or application form. You can also select which customized questions to include and where they should appear on both inquiry forms and application forms by going into the block settings.

You can add this block multiple times on the same form layout and better yet, it remembers which fields have already been enabled on the other Custom Candidate Field blocks.
School website: Delete your own video transcripts! Last month we added an option to add a transcript to a new or existing video that has been uploaded. We’ve gone a step further this month by adding in an option to completely delete an uploaded transcript.

Core: Data refresh updates! We’ve removed the option to add a new job and data managers can no longer create and run data refresh jobs and view related file layouts. However, data managers can still view the history of past jobs from Core, System Tools, Data Refresh.
To replace these options, we recommend using the data import process instead. This process enables data managers to import records directly into the database. It's completely self-managed, so you can upload data outside of business hours. Find it in Core, System Tools, and Data Import.
