FE NXT Q2 Roadmap Highlights

Looking for a quick preview of what you can hear about in the Q2 FE NXT Roadmap session recorded on August 2?  In this 58 minute session you can hear from the Blackbaud Products team about the great features that have come to FE NXT so far this year, what is coming in the second half of the year and a quick preview of what is beyond.

What came out in the first half of 2017?

• Vendor Communication Improvement - these features were not on the roadmap previously, but due to the agile environment we are able to work in the following features to make your vendor communication easier
  • Voice Over IP (VOIP) was added so that you could launch a call directly from the vendor record if you are using a VOIP service such as Skype for Business or Vonage. 
  • Direct mapping was also added. 
  • Email out directly to a contact.
• Bulk invoice approval within Accounts Payable.  You have two options - checkbox approval, or list to review invoice, approve, and go to the next one. We have now added this to Journal Entry.
• SKY API
  • General Ledger transactions - get by last modified date
  • Budgets - get grand and project budget list
  • Accounts Payable - post attachment URL; get 1099 amount; get media type list
  • Treasury - currently in Beta
• SKY Reporting
  • Prescriptive dashboards of RE info in FE NXT - will continue to iterate on this
  • Accounts Receivable dashboard (if you have AR module enabled)
  • Net assets dashboard
  • More flexibility in Transaction code dashboards
  • Broke out Metrics dashboard into two in order to separate out the history of changes
• Additional webview functionality
  • Post to GL from Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, and Treasury (known as Banks in database view)
  • Manage fiscal years (under Control Panel)
  • BBMS transactional tile on bank record- see disbursement information in FE NXT
  • Excel add in for journal entries that load into batch - available now in the Office Store (must be using Office 2016)
• Complete AP workflow - from invoice creation to payment processing
  • Can now copy from a previous invoice when creating new invoice
  • Treasury - now see visual of where account stands before you process payment
  • Payment preview for checks
  • Auto reconciliation with bank feeds
• Credit card management in EAP - similar functionality to bank feeds

  • Post budgets from other sources and load it into FE NXT
• SKY Reporting
  • Drag & Drop reporting - GA planned for this fall
• Additional webview functionality
  • Edit post parameters
  • Account setup
  • Budgeting
    • Excel add in - planned for Q3 release to be available in the Office Store
    • Views - how do you want to view the budget by; grant, project, etc? - planned for end of year
    • Add/edit
    • Budget tools
  • Allocation Management - statistical measures home page. Work Center with cards relevant to what you are tracking
  • Visual chart organizer - all same functionality as database view and new feature to test with exiting financial report - Q3 release
  • Expense management MVP release - all the greatness of credit card management, but puts onus on the card holder 
• Canadian Market
  • Currently in EAP for Canadian localization - certain requirements to participate in this EAP
  • Updates for taxes to see and edit in webview and reporting for Public Sector Body
