Shortly after I bought my first house—a process of constant of stress and chaos—I enrolled in a six-week introduction to yoga class at a nearby studio. We ended class in Savasana (Corpse Pose), the final relaxation pose. Almost every day, the yogi had to come over to me and calmly say, “Mary, it’s time to wake up…” Some might say I achieved a true sense of balance and tranquility because of the relaxation I found in class.

When it’s time to reconcile your payables and ledger, you might not be as relaxed as I was at the end of yoga class. But the good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way! Tip: And here’s a little tip to stay calm in a stressful world – stand up straight and tall, relax your shoulders (that’s hard for me), and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your nose. If you can, count to five for the inhale and to five for the exhale. This should help you breathe away some of the stress!

This made me laugh! I "achieve balance and tranquility" (aka practically fall asleep) every time I take a yoga class! Super excited for this new class that hopefully won't have me ending it the same way ;)
