Download your Data Enrichment Services Files Sooner than Later

Published
Have you ever used any of the Data Enrichment Services and received an email that your screening is complete and the file is ready for download? Then you plan on getting around to downloading the file, but other work responsibilities take precedence over it and you tell yourself you will get to it eventually. A few weeks roll by and you finally have time to download the file. You go to your Blackbaud.com FTP or click the download file now option in your database and there is no file to be found!

Due to complying to file security and storage clean up, files are removed after approximately 2 weeks from when they were placed in a location for you to retrieve them. In order to get the files back you will either have to contact Support or scramble to find the completed file email notification and reply back to the Data Analyst and request the file. All of which can take valuable time out of your workday temporarily putting a halt in your task. So, in the long run it is best to download your file as soon as they become available. You do not necessarily need to take action with the file once it’s downloaded, but it will ensure you do not need to make additional contacts down the road to try to obtain it again. This also applies to the download process in The Raiser’s Edge Data Health Center and CRM Data Tune Up. The download link will store the file in your database, without actually making any updates and you will not have to contact anyone even if you decide to do the Update weeks after the download. In conclusion it’s best to take a minute or two of your day to download your files once they become available to ensure you will not have to spend additional time of your day down the road and you can work on them at your leisure.
