Resource Guide: Researching Top Prospects Using ResearchPoint

Published

When time and talent are limited it’s important to use your resources well. ResearchPoint—coupled with good guiding principles for its use—can help you be strategic when researching your top prospects.

When time is short, or you are working with limited resources, it is important to think about how to prioritize your day-to-day work – and to consider when enough information is enough to take your next step.

You can download the Resource Guide to help you keep best practice suggestions in mind.  It’s all about using your time well and judging when it’s time to “move on.” After all, spending hours on detailed research only to learn a prospect is not interested in supporting your mission may not be time spent wisely.  In fact, most of these guiding principles share a common theme: you don’t need to worry about every bit of detailed information in ResearchPoint, especially for newly identified prospects.

What your biggest take-away from these suggestions, or do you have a favorite tip to add to the content?  We’d love to hear from you in the comments section.

You can find the guide HERE in the Target Analytics Community.

Favorite piece in here is the 85/15 and "your best donors will be those who have resources and a passion for what you do." That is what research is all about!
A helpful resource for our new users. Thank you.

Hey Randy, we fixed the links. Thanks for letting us know!
This is thoughtful, specific advice that should be helpful to us all -- especially prioritizing prospect list for those for whom we will do more in-depth exploration. But even then, limit time spent or risk being drug into a vortex that will suck up all our time with little to show for it.
