Tips & Tricks - Confirming Political Donations

Sharing with you a trick I found that helped me confirm political donations quickly and efficiently!

Hello fellow ResearchPoint users!

I wanted to write this week about a trick that I have found quite useful when working through identified political donations on an individual's record!

When working through to confirm the identified political contributions, I used to go through and expand each one to see further detail about the contribution.  I was trying to put pieces of the puzzle together to be able to be more confident in confirming/rejecting the data. I found that I was looking at the Occupation detail the most often, because I began to see the trend that my prospect was indicating his organization when making contributions to political campaigns.  Looking at the detail like this one-by-one was time consuming however...

The tip I have for you is to add the Occupation column to your data grid.  This can be done by selecting Columns and adding Occupation.  It will then be right up front within the overall view of the data grid.  I then used the filter for that particular column to hone in on the company I was looking for.  Once I had done that, I was then able to confirm political donations pages at a time rather than one by one!

Tips and ideas like this are things we talk about within our ResearchPoint: A Day in the Life of a Researcher!  Click here to register!

I hope that this helps!

Happy researching!

Ashley, I think this is an excellent point and best practice to use in the political donations hyperlink. When I work with my new users, we preset their individual RP database to have this column open. This was one of my favorite upgrades when RP added columns!
