Another Use For The Prospect Research Report…

Published
Do you use the Prospect Research Report in ResearchPoint?  It’s one of my favorite features of the software, and it’s there so those of us who are in RP up to our elbows everyday have an easy, fast, professional way to pop research details out of the database.

One of my clients told me recently about a way they used this feature that I loved, so I’m passing the idea along hoping it helps you too.

They had recently hosted a prospecting event with plenty of new names and faces for the development staff.  Knowing there would be lots of introductions taking place, the researcher offered a pre-event “detail dive” on each attendee to help staff prepare to meet lots of people in a short amount of time—spouse names, a photo, business affiliations…that kind of stuff.

She used the Research List functionality in ResearchPoint to stay organized.  After a few minutes of research per attendee, she used the “Research List Report” feature and exported summary research reports for everyone they expected to meet.  She emailed the document to gift officers and noted the reports could help them prep and strategize before the event and that it would be easy enough to slip out of sight during the event to scroll through on a cell phone if they needed a quick reminder about details.  Finally, when they sat down as a team to consider cultivation next steps, they projected the reports on a screen in their conference room to guide conversation.

Do you love this idea as much as I do?  Or perhaps you have used the prospect research report creatively too?  Share in the comments section!

That is very useful! I will share with our team. Great idea to help prepare for meeting folks :)
Great tip-I have been creating Prospect Research reports and using them in the same manner for my team but one at a time.  Great time saver...thanks!
