Suggested Target Analytics Breakout Sessions At BBCON 2018

Published
I am very much looking forward to being at #bbcon 2018 in sunny Florida at the Orlando Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center.  If you have not registered yet, please do so here and find the overall Agenda At-a-Glance here.  I am hoping that I’ll see many of our Target Analytics clients (and prospective clients) at the conference and in particular at our Target Analytics booth.  Please stop by and say “hello” at some point during the conference.  The Universal CityWalk™ Celebration on Tuesday night October 9, and Blair Underwood’s keynote Tuesday afternoon, October 9.  There are some key breakout sessions from Target Analytics experts that I suggest our clients check out, and they are listed below:
  • I suggest that you look to attend two breakout sessions for which I’m speaking:
    • Wednesday, October 10 at 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM ET in Room Sanibel 1-3, with Amy Polski Larson at Children’s Cancer Research Fund
      • Learn from Our Experience: One Client’s Journey to a Dynamic Pipeline:  Children's Cancer Research Fund will demonstrate their process for assigning and qualifying top scoring Target Analytics modeling prospects by utilizing data in both Raiser’s Edge and ResearchPoint as a way to prioritize prospects for major gift portfolios.
    • Thursday, October 11 at 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM ET in Room Sanibel 1-3
      • Analyze This!  Meaningful Metrics to Drive Fundraising Success:  This session will cover specific data points, measurements, and predictive analytics with specific strategies to help with forecasting and setting fundraising goals at your organization.

  • I suggest that you also look to attend three breakout sessions for which Liza Turcotte, Consulting Manager for Target Analytics, is speaking:
    • Wednesday, October 10 from 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM ET in Room Sanibel 1-3
      • Predictive Modeling: The Right Mix for Your Organization’s Success:  You know you need data analytics. But what is it exactly? And are you using it effectively? In this session, we’ll define descriptive statistics, wealth screening, predictive modeling, and prescriptive analytics. Then we’ll focus on how to determine the right mix of predictive modeling for your organization, touching on what you might already have if you're a Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT customer and what additional, more sophisticated, options are available from Blackbaud Target Analytics for all clients.
    • Wednesday, October 10 from 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM ET in Room St. George #102 with Danielle Lavon, Joslin Diabetes Center
      • How to Track the Success of Your Grateful Patient Program:  Just how philanthropic is your patient population? Are you spending too much to gain new patient supporters? What motivates a patient to give? Asking the right questions are key to getting the most valuable answers. Find out what questions you should ask to help guide the development of evaluation measures for your grateful patient program.
    • Thursday, October 11 from 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM ET in Room St. George #102
      • Wealth Screening vs. Modeling: Finding a Healthy Balance for Grateful Patient Programs:  A well-run grateful patient program is at the top of the list for a lot of healthcare organizations. Identifying your best potential donors and prospects among your patients is essential, and analytics and data are often the answer. There are more options than ever before but also more things to consider. It can be confusing to make sense of it all. In this session, we'll compare various tools, resources, and best practices that take grateful patient programs to the next level.

  • In addition I suggest that you look to attend this breakout session for which Melissa Bank Stepno, Director of Client Services, Blackbaud, is speaking:
    • Wednesday, October 10 from 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM ET in Room Sanibel 1-3
      • Research for the Non-Researcher:  Successful major gift fundraising is not always about finding the wealthiest person in your database. It's about focusing efforts on prospects who have the wealth and interest to make a major contribution to your organization. Are you targeting your best prospects or simply focusing on the most obvious candidates? If you don’t have a professional researcher on your side to help you, how can you quickly assess your organization’s best prospects to tailor your ask amounts appropriately? In this session, learn how to use ResearchPoint and other tools to introduce the non-researcher to accessible public records. We’ll also review easy strategies to help you synthesize data for effective fundraising.

  • Finally I suggest that you look to attend these two breakout sessions for which Lawrence Henze, Principal Consultant, Blackbaud, is speaking:
    • Wednesday, October 10 from 4:30 PM - 5:15 PM ET in Room Sanibel 1-3
      • The Shape of Planned Givers:  It's time to give planned giving its due. The gift revenue potential from planned gifts often exceeds the potential of current giving. Yet the resources dedicated to planned giving frequently pale in comparison. Once we understand more about the people making planned gifts and those likely to consider gifts of this type, we're able to develop engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship programming that makes it far more likely to achieve planned giving success. This session will focus on planned giving success, including knowing the characteristics of planned gift donors by donor type, tailoring communications and interactions appropriately, and ensuring that face-to-face visits with planned giving prospects are incorporated in monthly gift officer metrics.
      • Thursday, October 11 from 2:30 PM - 3:15 PM ET in Room Miami 1-3 with Britt Fouks and Carolyn Copp, both of Blackbaud
        • Making the Most of Your Mid-Tier Donors:  Implementing a strong mid-tier fundraising strategy is the best way to build a sustainable donor base and grow a major giving program. In this session, you'll discover practical strategies and innovative tactics for identifying mid-tier prospects and building a sustainable multi-channel plan.

I look forward to seeing our Target Analytics clients at #bbcon!
