Important Information Regarding Year-End Updates for Fundware and Windows 2000

Published
January will be here before we know it and it will be time to produce those year-end tax forms!  Now is the time to start preparing to ensure there are no unexpected hiccups when you're trying to get these forms out the door!

If your FundWare server is running Windows 2000 and you plan to install the 2013 Year-End Service Bulletin (YESB) when it is released at the end of the year, you will have to update your server operating system prior to install the YESB.  This means, if you are planning to create 1099s or W-2s from FundWare and your FundWare server is on Windows 2000, you will have to update the operating system on your FundWare server before installing the YESB for the updated forms.

Starting with YESB12 (last year’s YESB) .NET Framework 3.5 is needed to install the YESB and produce tax forms.  .NET Framework 3.5 will not install on Windows 2000 as Microsoft’s support for Windows 2000 ended on July 13, 2010.

Also, as a reminder, FundWare support for versions 7.20 & prior ended in September of 2012.  To install the YESB you will need to be on a version later than 7.20.

Please ensure your Windows operating system is updated beyond Windows 2000 prior to installing the 2013 YESB when it is released at the end of the year.

Getting all of our "ducks in a row" now will pay off later!
