Printing And E-Filing 1099s With Aatrix

2017 is winding down quickly and it’s time to get prepared for tax season! Before creating your 1099’s you’ll want to make sure that you have the proper rights in The Financial Edge to access 1099 forms and that Aatrix is both installed and registered.

If you navigate to Accounts Payable> Mail> Forms and do not see 1099 Forms or receive an error message regarding your rights, you’ll need to have those rights updated in Administration>>Set up system security. 
Please ensure that your Windows account has local admin rights to your computer, or you are logged in with a Windows account that has those rights, before installing Aatrix.

Registering Aatrix is easy!  Make sure it’s registered before you print your tax forms!
Which forms and copies of 1099s and W2s are required this year?
 
Once we’ve set up our workstation to prepare the 1099 forms, we want to make sure all of our vendor information is entered correctly. We recommend comparing your 1099 Activity Report to a query of vendors that were paid the minimum or above. Creating this list can be a good step in ensuring that all of your 1099 vendors are marked appropriately, that no vendors are incorrectly marked as 1099 vendors, you have all of the Vendor addresses marked as the default 1099 address, and have no missing Tax ID numbers. Once we have verified that our list of 1099 vendors look good, we can get started on the printing and/or eFiling process!
 
As mentioned earlier, we generate the 1099 forms in Mail> Forms.  For the exact walk-through instructions, please reference, ‘How do I print and prepare 1099 forms in Aatrix in Accounts Payable 7.’ There are certainly times where a vendor may have been missed, after the printing process has occurred. No worries! The Financial Edge offers a way to print a 1099 form for one vendor. You will also find that there may be a need to specify a particular bank when generating these forms. The process is a little trickier, but these steps show you how to generate a query that can then be used to print 1099 forms for one particular bank.

When working with Aatrix to complete your 1099’s (the only option on version 7.87 and higher) there is no fee associated with printing your 1099’s to your forms yourself!  Only if you eFile will you incur additional costs.
