How Exactly To Enter All Of That ACA Information...

Howdies!

Well, January and Tax season are now in full swing, and if you’re in HR or you handle Payroll, ACAs are likely on your “To Do” list this month. So, let’s dive in!

Now, if this is your first year running ACAs (or you need a li’l refresher after a year), zip on over to our ACA FAQs first to get all of the details on current due dates, forms, and the ACA coverage codes. Additionally, make sure you’ve updated to patch 16 for version 7.87 so you have the most up to date features needed to run the latest 1094s/1095s.

If you ran ACAs last year, you already have the 2016 info on your employee records. This year, you have 3 options for getting 2017 ACA data into The Financial Edge.
  1. Manually add the ACA tax information via the employee’s ACA Information Tab, and add the dependent information via the Contacts and Addresses tab at the bottom.

  1. On each employee’s ACA Information Tab, we’ve added a Copy button (see below) to allow you to copy existing ACA information forward to the 2016 year.

  1. Import the ACA and the Dependent information – If you have a large number of employees or if you imported last year and still have the ACA import file you used, this may be the best fit.

  1. Tip: We have an *example file provided in our knowledgebase solution below that contains specific column headers which help the import parameter to auto-maps the fields on the Fields tab of the import.

  1. When you import 2017 information, the import will create a new row for the 2017 ACA year on the ACA Information Tab, so it will be separated from the 2016 information.

For full steps on how to add ACA information, check out our knowledgebase article:
How to enter ACA 1094/1095 data into the Financial Edge

*The knowledgebase article contains an attachment located at the bottom of the article mentioned above called “ACA Imports.zip” The import file is in a Zip format and contains 2 excel workbooks.  These workbooks contain instructions on how to import, as well as a sample import file as well.

Best wishes for a productive and successful Tax Season!
