Delicious Data

Published
My husband and I are planning a summer vacation. To get in the spirit of international travel, we’ve turned to culinary travel shows where dishes range from “Where has this been all my life?” to “How could someone eat that?”. d1ab429f37dd91ab469d2d9143e5cafe-huge-di 7c814a2833a056ef1b626cb26b763ef1-huge-di

A recent episode showcased a soft, French cheese – dispensed with an aerator of some sort – then sprinkled with a wide foray of local delicacies. The chef had taken odds and ends growing in his garden – nuts, seeds, herbs, flowers – and married the flavors together with the cheese to come up with a gourmet palate-pleaser. Based on the reaction of the host, I’m assuming it was delicious. This was certainly no Super Bowl Sunday whizzed cheese appetizer!

Doesn’t it make you wonder how odds and ends can come together as a recipe for something delicious?

Wouldn’t it be amazing if your fundraising data could come together to produce a gourmet delight, too?

Blackbaud University wants to help you use eTapestry queries to create your own data dishes. As part of our new curriculum, we created a class to help you utilize queries to group data together and produce delicious results. Can data be delicious? We think so!

In our eTapestry: Effective and Efficient Queries course, we cover topics such as:

  • What queries to use as starting points for additional queries
  • How to determine the right data return types based on how you’ll use the query
  • Working with multiple types of criteria
  • Combining multiple queries to further refine data for reports and communications
  • Creating queries to group donors based on types of giving, including individual and cumulative amounts
If these topics sound appetizing to you, register now! This course is included with your Learn More or Learn Everything training subscription. Not a subscriber? Find out how a Learn® subscription can help develop your ongoing skills.

Your eTapestry data may never sweep you away to exotic locations with decadent food, and I probably won’t try most of the dishes shown on these culinary shows, but I will continue my quest to be a bon vivant regardless!
