Messy Buns and Your Data

Published
My daughter has a gorgeous head of hair, but it’s a bit unruly. I’ve tried to help her manage it with detangling shampoos, leave-in conditioners, and a host of homemade concoctions. But, being a typical teenager, she wants to sleep late and then get up and run out the door for the school bus.555845d0c7931ece46c5a538a29ac2f1-huge-c_

That means her long mane of hair ends up in a messy bun on top of her head as she rolls out the door for school.
Instead of combing through it to get it to do what she wants, she settles for a mess.

Sounds like some data I used to run in my fundraising days!

Do you settle for less data control because you can’t comb through your data to get what you need? Are stakeholders asking to see your accomplishments, but you can’t get reports to accurately display critical details?

We feel your pain and want to help. We can teach you how to effectively use the tools in eTapestry so you can turn your data into something presentable.

In Blackbaud University’s new class, eTapestry: Effective and Efficient Reports, we explore real-life scenarios to:

  • Identify what types of analysis organizations need to complete and why
  • Identify which reports will help you perform the analysis you need
  • Create standard and custom reports applying best practices
  • Learn the functionality beyond what the query preview page can provide, such as grouping results, creating aggregate fields, and displaying summary giving
  • Understand how data return types can affect report results
  • Discover pitfalls and explore troubleshooting tips for avoiding or fixing them
If these topics sound like something you could use to improve your reporting skills and data analysis, register now! This course is included with your Learn More or Learn Everything training subscription. Not a subscriber? Find out how a Learn® subscription can help you become effective and efficient!

You’ve got the power of Blackbaud University on your side to help with your eTapestry reports! Sadly, it looks like I’m stuck with messy buns here at home for a while longer.

Great analogy! I will say we have worked very hard to ensure our data is as clean as it can be. I would say we are at least at a 90% rate of managing our partners in mission. These are great tips and I encourage people to look at the training. It really does work!
