Saying goodbye to the eTapestry Name Conversion Tool

I wanted to make you aware an upcoming change that will be taking place in the eTapestry system before the close of the 2020 calendar year. On a routine basis, we audit the system around what functionality is being used and what functionality needs to be “retired” to keep the system running to its optimal performance.
In a few weeks, we will retire the Name Conversion tool. If you have joined the Blackbaud family using eTapestry in the past 4.5 years, you have never even seen this functionality. There was a time when eTapestry had just one field for the Account Name. Due to customer requests, we decided to adjust that Account Name field to allow for First, Middle and Last Names in separate fields. For people using the system in 2016 or before, we needed to give them a way to get their names from one field into multiple fields – thus, the Name Conversion tool was created.
While we've had a lot of our customers complete this conversion, there are still some organizations out there that have not completed that process. The good news is that even if you haven’t completed it, your system is still working for you, and maybe you have not found a need or the desire to do that work. The time has come that this option will be going away. After November 8th, you will no longer be reminded (or badgered) that your organization has not completed that conversion when you log in to eTapestry.
