Prepare Before You Create TeamRaiser Events

Published

Even though the end of year just happened, spring event season will be here sooner than you think. Before creating a new TeamRaiser event, it’s important to plan out key points. This preliminary thinking and strategizing can help you decide which TeamRaiser options and features to focus on while setting up an event.

The following is a list of 10 questions to work through with your events team before you create your TeamRaiser events in Luminate Online.

  1. What is the name and the date of your event?
  2. What is your fundraising goal for the event?
  3. How many participation types will you have? What will you call them? What is the fee for each participation type?
  4. What is the suggested participant fundraising goal?
  5. Will you allow participants to create teams? If so, what is the suggested team goal?
  6. Do registration fees count toward the goal?
  7. Do you need additional information from all event attendees, specific participant types, or team captains? If so, what is the information you need?
  8. Will you allow secondary registrations?
  9. Will you use milestones and badges? If so, what are your milestone and badge levels?
  10. Will you offer discounts? If so, what types and how much of a discount will you offer?

Taking the time to document the answers to these questions will save you time when setting up your TeamRaiser events. It will also ensure everyone on your event committee is in agreement with the decisions, which can save you having to go back and edit the event configuration later.
