Good Vibes And A Sweet Reward For Your Feedback

a620fd5d8427ac05aab947cc8f2eb7b4-huge-ryYou want to become wealthy (with good vibes and a sweet mug)? I want to ask for your help in trying out a new feature we released last month for Luminate Beta - Social Posting.

We're developing this feature for you, and we'd like to work with you on it. The first "release" of Social Posting allows you to create Facebook posts and Twitter tweets, save drafts, schedule them, and post to Facebook and Twitter. There will be more features rolling out in the upcoming months. Social Posting may not meet all of your needs now, but we expect that an integrated tool like this will prove very valuable as it develops- and we want your help in growing it in the direction you want it to go.

As the product manager for the new social posting tool, I'm asking you to try it out. Let me know what you think, what you'd like to see, and what would influence you to use this tool versus any other (even if it's "I'd use this integrated tool when it grows up if..."). It takes less than 5 minutes to get started. Watch my overview video - it's shorter than most Tik Tok memes.

For your contribution to the success of the products we all know and love, I’ll send you a personal thanks, you'll get instant good vibes**, and we'll reward you with a sweet mug.

** RE/the good vibes. Science has shown that acts of generosity and volunteerism cause a boost of "happiness chemicals” in our bodies. What? Yes! These include "dopamine, endorphins that give people a sense of euphoria, and oxytocin, which is associated with tranquility, serenity or inner peace.”

Thanks for partnering with me on this.

Hey Ryan, How will this work if an org is using a social media manager program, such as Hootsuite or Buffer? Also, is there any discussions around additional social streams, such as Instagram?

Thanks for providing feedback around social posting.  To answer your question, this would work very similar to things like Hootsuite or Buffer.  This is a tool that will eventually help bring social data back into your database which is an area of focus for many organizations.  The purpose is to make streamlining your marketing plans in one area and allow you to get data back on posts to see how you are doing. We are currently in discussions around adding Instagram, but this is something we are working towards as Instagram API for posting isn't available and requires special permissions.

I don't see the Social drop down under the marketing tab; is there something we need to activate?

I checked your account and we are working to provision this to you soon.  We are working on some permissions workflows that need to be updated and then it'll show up.  Sorry about the confusion and I will follow up as soon as possible.

Thanks, Ryan! I don't see this as replacing our current social media manager program, but enhancing. We often mirror our email campaigns on social media, and I feel like your tool will be a good way to do that.

I'm comparing this to the free Hootsuite program we're currently using - I don't know if I'll use this tool as it's currently set up. I created one Facebook post and one Twitter post from here, both tagging a major sponsor. I couldn't tell from the editor whether those tags worked (no account popped up to say the tag was successful). When the posts were published, the Twitter @ worked but the Facebook one did not.

I am likely to continue using Hootsuite for Instagram and LinkedIn and Twitter while scheduling Facebook posts directly in Facebook. I would consider using Luminate Beta should IG, LI and maybe WordPress accounts become linked also - it would be good to use this as part of our Luminate package and have everything in one place rather than using several different platforms or paying extra for an expanded Hootsuite.

Eric Bollman‍ thanks for the feedback on social posting.  Tagging is definitely a thing we'd love to offer, but Facebook api for tagging has been deprecated we're evaluating other alternative ways to offer tags as tagging people is different than tagging another Facebook page.  I'd like to get your thoughts around LinkedIn and Wordpress. If you wouldn't mind direct messaging me and we could set aside some time briefly chat about those. Instagram is on the next thing to add list, we're just working with Facebook to get access.
