Hurricane Matthew Relief

Published

The path of destruction left behind by Hurricane Matthew is unfathomable. Relief efforts are underway from Haiti up to North Carolina. Blackbaud would like to highlight any organizations helping out in the aftermath of this catastrophic storm.

On behalf of the Community team, I want to thank you for all of your well wishes and thoughts as we weathered the storm here in Charleston. Cleanup in our area is underway, many residents are just now being allowed home to survey the damage.

We are seeing widespread damage from Hurricane Matthew all along the East Coast. Now that the storm has passed, we are really starting to see the devastation it left behind in Haiti.

Blackbaud is committed to helping organizations who are answering the call and helping out in the aftermath of the storm.

We are highlighting nonprofits who are raising money for relief efforts.

There is a new page on blackbaud.com dedicated to everyone who is helping out. It's located HERE.

If your nonprofit is helping out and would like to be added to the list - please email the community team: community@blackbaud.com and we'll make sure it is added. Thank you again for all that you do!

The Baptist General Association of Virginia has deployed two feeding units to Rocky Mount, North Carolina to serve 20,000+ meals/day to victims and response workers. Chain saw and flood recovery teams will be deployed there and to Horry County, South Carolina as well. https://bgav.org/glocal-initiatives/disaster/hurricane-matthew/
Many of the Feeding America food banks are a part of the emergency respondents to the destruction. My organization, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, one of them. Very proud of our family of food banks for coming together in this time of need in our community. Is it possible to add the Feeding America food banks that are both affected and part of the recovery efforts?
Would it be possible to add The Global Orphan Project to the list? They have a significant presence in Haiti. @crystalbruce
