Community Happenings: July 18 2017

Hello Community!

This year I’ve focused on my professional development and elevating my community manager reputation (or as I like to call it: CM street cred).

I’m working towards my goal but haven’t authored either a formal paper or a blog post.  It can be daunting – my name and reputation would be out there for the world to see it when it’s published. I imagine it’s the same for you. You know what you’re doing (as seen in many discussions) but never have taken that step to be a published author in your area of expertise. eee6f14870873cdfc6b2b94945069293-huge-pr

This is where the Blackbaud Community comes in – this is a place where you can become a published author supported by your fellow peers. We offer tips and tricks and the opportunity to write blogs to share with your fellow members just like Tasha Gibson did in the eTapestry Community.

Right now, if you write a blog for the Community, we’re offering a chance to head to bbcon 2017. If you win, you’ll head to Baltimore to show off your nonprofit street cred. You can see all the details on our contest page. Join me on this journey and get published.

Not ready for a blog? Let’s get to what’s happening in the Community:

Make an Appearance Stay Informed Get Involved
  • What would you have done differently at your first bbcon? Chime in on this discussion and help a fellow member get the most out of bbcon.
  • What marketing channels does your organization use most? What has given you the best results? Join our Best Practices discussion and share your knowledge.
Alright favorite community, who’s joining me on this blog writing adventure? If you are, please comment below, I’ll give you a special prize for giving it a try. Already published? Share your links below! Other than that, see you next week!

I love my travel blog! It's not so much a writing blog, more photo essays .. but, I still enjoy contributing to it.

Go for it, Shannon!
Thank you Eileen!!! I know my team supports me fully - it's more of my twitchiness I need to overcome but I did have a great conversation with another community manager outside of Blackbaud that made me think of this. :)
Shannon, go for the blog or authored paper, you have solid support in the community!
