Community Happenings: December 12

A conversation overheard at my house today:

“Remind me not to do so many holiday activities next year.”
“Sure. It’s not like that stops you any other year. You’re a force to be reckoned with when you want to do something.

7fee36c7a18afb50cb1e4650d3e3f2d8-huge-poThat stuck with me as I hauled my potluck contributions into the office today – a force to be reckoned with. It made me stand taller because it’s true. I don’t allow things to get in my way when I have a goal and while I didn’t realize it that second, I needed to hear it. Isn’t it weird where nuggets of inspiration pop up?

With that, I pass that inspiration to you as you wrap up 2017. Each of you has inspired me daily by sharing knowledge, encouraging each other, and just being awesome. There aren’t a lot of people out there doing what you do - all in the name of changing the world to be a better place.

Let nothing stand in your way and always remember you're a force to be reckoned with each and every day.

Maybe even a holiday themed high five.

See you all next week!

YAY Cathy! Love that you did that! Congrats on getting certified. :)
I achieved professional certifictaion in RE this year. I dislike taking tests, but finally screwed up my courage and took it :)
I earned THREE (FE, eTapestry, and Altru) certifications.. going on four (FENXT) by the end of the year and SIX (ResearchPoint, Nonprofit Workshop) in 2018. Loved taking the Blackbaud courses!

I am happy that, along with some birthday friends, we raised over $3000 for animal charities by asking people not to wish us a happy birthday and give to our fundraiser.  Honestly, the only reason I am responding is to get a holiday themed high five.   That's right - I'm calling you out Shannon!
I feel you on that one, Ami! Welcome to being an adult - I bought a washer and felt super adulty.
WOOHOO Heidi! I love that - I am working on a non-profit certification myself here at Blackbaud and can't wait until I claim my badge.
More of a personal goal, but I actually managed to put some money in savings this year--and keep it there! Which is something, considering we also paid for a wedding. I'm feeling pretty adult-y this year.
I am super proud that I was able to achieve professional certification in both FE and RE!!
