Crystal Clear: Notice Anything Different?

Published

There are a few new features in the Blackbaud Community. I'll make them Crystal Clear!

You may have noticed a few improvements in the Community this week. We are excited to tell you about them.

What's New?

First, the biggest change is with the text editor. It's been upgraded!

In addition to the functionality that was already present, the following features have been added:
  • HTML Source Editing: When you click source, HTML formatting and syntax highlighting will assist users in validating their HTML is correct.
  • Table Tools: You can now add tables without writing HTML by clicking the button in the text editor’s toolbar.
  • Links pasted into the text editor now automatically format as clickable links.
  • Changes to Content Pasting: Content must be pasted using CTRL-V or CONTROL-SHIFT-V.
What else is new?

There's now a spell check. You may notice red squiggly lines under a questionable word - no suggestions will be given (that's a feature request we put in).. but, you can hit the spell check in the menu to get a list of suggestions.

Keep Going!

Okay, we will. In your outlook or email inbox, you will see that the notifications are now from "Member's Name" via the Blackbaud Community.

More?

Yes! You can now paste clickable links in comment boxes.

More?!!!

One more thing! If you copy and paste a forum discussion or blog into your Facebook for social sharing - it will look a lot better. That's been optimized for social sharing.

Have you noticed any other changes? What do you think about the ones rolled out, so far? Let us know in the comments below!

If you can think of any features you'd like to see in this Community, check out the new Community feedback forum HERE.

I can't imagine ANYONE doing this job better than Crystal - HONESTLY!!!!!  way to go Crystal!  I really hope to meet you at BBCON this year:-)
Thank you! I am terrible with remembering to make links into links.
Wow!  So awesome!
Thank you and great job :)
Thank you!!!
This is great!  Thank you!
Great improvements Crystal!!  I've also noticed some more menu items under products, so it is great that Community is growing. Now where is the share button - am I blind?! Or do you you mean if you copy/paste the url in Twitter or whatever (sharing that way). Go Moo Shoo!!
Great job with the improvements!!

Yay! And yay Moo Shoo!
Crystal - Just an fyi, your Moo Shoo memes are contributing to our office "Pun Board". Thanks so much! Tonya
@Joshua - Outlook does group all the messages together if you search on "Blackbaud Community". Also, if you want to go there, you can set up a rule to categorize these messages and color code them. Once they are categorized, you can do things like sort on the category by clicking in the categories header, or set a rule to assign a retention policy, etc. I like to assign a one week delete on regular marketing email, to tidy-up my inbox. Of course, rules require a little testing because they sometime catch unexpected messages. There's nothing as specific as regular expressions. Also, rules can access the internet mail header, which Outlook makes hard to find. (More than you wanted to know, but perhaps it helps?)
Great improvements.  I have been getting emails with the members name.  This is awesome.
btw, I just tried it - if you share this blog in Facebook ... the image is Moo Shoo! :-D
Love the social sharing update! :)
Looks good.. getting better! Wish that when we use a query from a previous year that it would automatically change that day that you updated it or viewed it... not when you run the report. Also, when you go into the query it says.. Modified but it actually wasn't.. I just looked at it.. needs to say something other than Last Modified.. should read .. last viewed.. or... - Just because i get into the query doesn't mean i've modified it. Otherwise.. love working with etapestry!

LOVE all of this! Thanks Crystal, for this and everything else you do for us every day here in the Community!

It is not an improvement until Google permissions can be handled by onCampus when submitting documents from Google Drive.
TY Crystal. I'm with Josh. . . "Blackbaud Community from Member Name"  will help me sort through all the other stuff and get right to the community!
