The Buzz: Positivity Edition

Good Morning Community!

Every week here at The Buzz we try to bring you a unique perspective on what's happening at Blackbaud from a global scale.  This week, specifically today (September 11th) is a little difficult to pull away from an American perspective as we solemnly remember the catastrophic events that unfolded across the United States.  We remember the nearly 3,000 people who perished due to the events.  We thank the first responders who gave their lives to help others affected by the terrorist actions.


But while we remember that fateful day, we turn our focus to positive things that are happening in the world today.  For example; did you know that a cruise ship that was in the Caribbean area with 3,000 passengers aboard decided that instead of returning to Florida and cancelling their cruise, they would turn their vacation into a humanitarian relief effort for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.  They packaged up over 10,000 meals to be directly delivered to people who had lost everything in the Bahamas.  It's true!


And did you know that the government of Denmark recently purchased the last 4 remaining circus elephants in their country so that the elephants could live out the rest of their lives peacefully in retirement?  Again, it's true!


So while today is a solemn day of remembrance, remember also to focus on some of the good things currently happening in the world today.  Remember that being a positive, inspiring person can go a long way towards improving the world we live in now.
