About Elaine:

Tell us about your family (fur babies count!) "One grown child, 4 grands, and multiple nieces and nephews.  No fur babies of my own, but I do babysit for a two wonderful dogs when their owners go out of town."

Where do you live? "Dallas, Texas."

What do you like to do for fun? "Read, Clog Dance, watch movies, spend time with the kiddos. Anytime at the beach is TIME WELL SPENT!"

What’s a life achievement you are particularly proud of?
"Raising a family and finishing my college degree as a 'non tradtional' student."

What’s one memory that always makes you smile?
"Fishing with my Dad."

Tell us about your organization: "The World Affairs Council of Dallas Fort Worth is the go-to spot for anything international in our area. While we are best known for our speakers (Kissinger, Condoleeza Rice and David McCullough to name a few) we also act as the Protocol Office for the City of Dallas, we welcome International Visitor Delegations who may be studying Journalism, Burn Treatments or Gender issues, we hold teacher worships and have the cabapility for local students to attend our public programs free of charge so they can learn "first hand" about the things they read about in school.  We are all about informing and enlightening North Texans so we can all thrive in the global community."

What’s a typical day like for you? "My days are mostly about data, information and making sure that all our systems are "speaking" to each other.  I also assist with any membership questions that arise.  How all that is managed is different from day to day, as some days there are more fires to put out than others."

What’s the best part of your job? "Geeking out I just love it when all the data is as it should be and when people run the Crystal Reports or Canned reports in RE and go 'Wow! just what I needed.'"

What advice would you give someone starting out in the non-profit field? "Watch, listen and ask lots of questions.  The bad question is the one that is NOT asked.  Also, the non-profit community is a great place to work. It provides an opportunity to give back to the community in so many ways."

What do you love about the Blackbaud Community? "The forums which allow us to be as funny or as serious as needed on a daily basis. It's a great place to connect with peers. The Champions forum is also great because it helps us all stay up to date on things and gives us a place to share the joy about Blackbaud with others."

Finally...

If you had 24 hours left before the asteroid hit, what would you spend your time doing? "Asteroid pre-day would be spending time with the family playing music and singing."
