About Joshua:

Tell us about your family (fur babies count!): -------->

Where do you live? "Denver, Colorado."

What’s a life achievement you are particularly proud of?
<---------- :-D

Tell us about your organization: "The American Indian College Fund (the College Fund) provides American Indians with student scholarships and programs to support academic readiness and student success. The College Fund also helps support accredited tribal colleges and universities located on or near Indian reservations."

What’s a typical day like for you? "I hate to say it but I'll say it anyway: there is no such thing as a typical day.  In addition to mananging Raiser's Edge and the gift entry process I also manage the College Fund's IT needs.  The IT part makes every day different, you just never know what will happen."

What’s the best part of your job? "The people I work with.  All super passionate about their jobs and our mission."

What's one thing most people don't know about you? ------>

What advice would you give someone starting out in the non-profit field? "Don't. Okay, for real, don't stop learning.  Be a sponge.  Soak up as much information as you can, every minute of every day.  Find a mentor.  It doesn't have to be a formal arrangement, just find someone in a job that you would love to do.  Then learn everything you can from them. Follow them on social media.  Meet for coffee (or beer) and chat.  When you feel you have squeezed every morsel of information out of them... apply for their job."

What do you love about the Blackbaud Community? "The ability to help staff at other nonprofits.  It's a great resource for all knowledge, skill and experience levels.  Just when you thought someone knew it all you'll see them post a question themselves.  It's like having an older sibling to turn to when you need help, except the Blackbaud Community won't give you a wedgie in the middle of Walmart. "
