Tell us about your family (fur babies count!): "Two cats, one black and one tortie, both divas."

Where do you live? "San Francisco Bay Area."

What do you like to do for fun? "Knit, garden, and watch old movies."

What’s a life achievement you are particularly proud of? "Finishing college and figuring out Raiser's Edge."

What’s one memory that always makes you smile? "My maternal grandparents."

What is one interesting fact about yourself most people don't know? "Most people are surprised that a database manager has a bachelor of  fine arts degree in textiles."

What are three things on your bucket list? "That's a secret."

Tell us about your organization: "Charles Armstrong School serves high potential students with language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia, empowering them to thrive as learners in school and life.  We serve up to 8th grade."

What’s a typical day like for you? "Most days require focus to focus!  Our work area is common, with three departments working and lots of walk in traffic.  So earbuds are a must.  There are plenty of opportunities to get up and move if you need to stretch -- which is important as a data person who spends hours sitting."

What’s the best part of your job? "The data is the best part, and my current team.  I have spent the last year or so doing some heavy duty clean-up, digging through archival materials as we approach our 50th annivesary.  That is both a challenge and entertaining, especially with photographs involved."
What advice would you give someone starting out in the non-profit field? "Get to know the organization, ask questions about current and past.  Ask who, what, where, when and why.  Keep the big picture in mind and how that ties to the details of data.  Make sure to utiltize coding that anyone will be able to easily understand if you get hit by an asteroid tomorrow, and document! when, what, why where how your org. is utilizing your database.  And always remember garbage in = garbage out."

What do you love about the Blackbaud Community? "That they are friendly, responsive, helpful, and have an incredible amount of boots-on-the-ground knowledge about best practices and work-arounds."
Finally, if you were a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be? "... avocado and heirloom tomato on toasted rye."

Woo hoo - love the cat picture and I can relate !  I have 4 cats and they are SUCH divas.  The youngest one runs my house - even the 100 lb dog listens to her.
