Tell us about your family (fur babies count!) "My husband and I recently celebrated our 36th anniversary. We have three grown children: Scott, Cheryl and Anna, and a son-in-law, Garrett. The fur baby is a 6 year old cockapoo, Libby. She is quite the rascal and keeps us all laughing."
Where do you live? "Springfield, Ohio." What do you like to do for fun? "I like to read, bake and go shopping with my girls. I love going to concerts. I enjoy visiting parks wherever we go. A few of my hobbies are card making, creating felties and small toys from socks." |

Tell us about your organization: "I work for the Ohio Masonic Home Foundation, which is part of the OMH family of organizations. We have retirement campuses in three areas of the state as well as a Resource Center whose focus is to help seniors stay healthy and independent. The Foundation exists to manage the endowment and to raise additional monies to support the campuses. I love being a part of the mission to help seniors age respectfully: how they want, where they want." What’s a typical day like for you? "One of the things I enjoy about my job is that while every day has some basic structure to it (gift entry, acknowledgements, reporting, interacting with donors) I never know who will stop by from the campus to visit or share a story. This makes my job, which can seem so much about numbers at times, much more personal." What’s the best part of your job? "Seeing the outcomes of what we do as they benefit the people in our care. The older I get, the more I appreciate the ability to give back." |

What advice would you give someone starting out in the non-profit field? "Take advantage of all the training you can. Be flexible and adaptable. Keep a good sense of humor!" What do you love about the Blackbaud Community? "I love that I am able to connect with people who have a great breadth of knowledge and experience. Community members are wonderful to share their insights and give great suggestions. If you have a sticky situation, ask away and be amazed with the ideas that are shared. I appreciate the opportunity to be in a Community. I am not alone. There's nothing better than family in my book. " |

Finally, if you were a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be? "I would be a French Dip sandwich with horseradish sauce. Solid and comforting with a touch of sass!" |
