Tell us about your family (fur babies count!) "I have no babies, fur or otherwise!"

Where do you live? "Bellevue, Washington."

What do you like to do for fun? "I play in an adult gay softball league (Go Seattle SASSSQuatch!) & avid musical theater attendee."

What’s a life achievement you are particularly proud of? "Moving out west. I gave up my life, friends, and career and embarked west. I learned a lot, failed some things, but ultimately am a better person because of it!"

What’s one memory that always makes you smile? "Breaking ground at my former organization's new agency home. Something that was years in the making--a new home for the LGBT community in Dallas."

What is one interesting fact about yourself most people don't know? "I seem to fool people with my accent--nobody ever can guess I'm from Texas orginally!"

What are three things on your bucket list? "Visit Iceland, Hike the PCT, visit every state in America."

Tell us about your organization: "By collecting and preserving artifacts and stories of the Puget Sound region’s diverse history, MOHAI highlights our tradition of innovation and imagination. Through compelling exhibits, scholarship, education, public programs, and community engagement, MOHAI bridges the past, present, and future."

What’s a typical day like for you? "Just started so eagerly learning more!"

What’s the best part of your job? "Since I'm new to Seattle, it's the quirky history of this city that I'm learning about through shared stories, fond memories, and cool artifacts about this city!"
What advice would you give someone starting out in the non-profit field? "Find your passion and embrace it!"

What do you love about the Blackbaud Community? "It's robust and active!"
Finally.. if you could have a theme song, what would that song be?: "I'm always humming showtunes so it'd definitely be anything written by Sondheim."

I have a fb friend who is a MOHAI member and posts pictures from her visits at least a couple times a month. It keeps her AND her young kids so engaged. You're doing something right! I hope to visit her and your museum sometime!
Right after I graduated college...ahem...1993...a whole slew of my college friends moved out there...and never looked back!  Always thought - pretty brave.  Visited once and never had a drop of rain in the three days I spent wandering around.  Very fun Bumpershoot festive.  Hey, we're going live with Altru soon, maybe we'll connect soon, especially regarding your expriences...
