Tell us about your family (fur babies count!) "I've been married almost 6 years (April 21st will be 6) I have a daughter who will be 4 on March 23. My husband is an EMT and volunteer firefighter. I have 3 dogs. All German Shepherds. 2 girls and one boy."

Where do you live? "Bedford, Virginia."

What do you like to do for fun? "In my spare time I love being outside with the dogs and my little girl. We walk and play and chase anything and everything."
What’s a life achievement you are particularly proud of? "I'm pretty proud of being the first person in my family to graduate college."

What’s one memory that always makes you smile? "High school softball will ALWAYS make me smile. I met some of the best friends I have and have ever had thorugh softball. It taught me a lot of lessons."

What are three things on your bucket list? "Seeing the sunrise on the East Coast and the Sunset on the West Coast on the same day."
Tell us about your organization: "The National D-Day Memorial is a completely outdoor Monument dedicated to preserving the lessons and legacy of those who fought on D-Day. We are open year round and have at least one event per month, sometimes more mostly in the summer. We have a staff of 19. Only 15 are full-time. We have an ARMY of volunteers that help with our gift shop, ticketing, and tours of the Memorial. We have an annual visitation of over 50,000 per year. We get A LOT done with a small staff."

What’s a typical day like for you? "A typical day includes answering donor and visitor emails. Processing donations and making any maintenance changes to the database thats needed. I may also do mail lists or acknowledgement letters."

What’s the best part of your job? "Getting to meet all the Veterans that I do and all of the people that stop through at the Memorial. So many people from so many different places and all are appreciative of what we do here."
What advice would you give someone starting out in the non-profit field? "Under promise and over deliver. If you think you can get it done in twenty minutes, give whoever is asking an hour estimate and then if you hit a snag you're in the clear and if you finish something early you're giving them good news."

What do you love about the Blackbaud Community? "So many people willing to share their ideas and solutions."
Finally, if you were a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be? "I'd be a club sandwich. Nothing out of the ordinary but something everyone likes."
